As I write this tribute with tear-filled eyes and a heavy heart, I feel an overwhelming sense of emptiness. Yet, I find solace knowing the good Lord will console me with cherished memories of your exemplary life. Dad, you were a man of integrity, kindness, and strength. Your unwavering faith, dedication to our family, and boundless generosity will always inspire us.

I was proud to call you Dad, and my friends admired you whenever they met you. Your epic storytelling, infectious laughter, and perfect advice made you truly one-of-a-kind. You made even simple gatherings unforgettable, and your kindness left a lasting impression on everyone. When you visited me at boarding school and university, my friends were always amazed by how easily they could talk and connect with you.

Your ability to connect with people of all ages made you stand out. You made everyone feel welcome and important, insisting I call my wife “Lady Harriet.” When we visited you in Ghana in December 2022, your sense of humour, adventurous spirit, and knack for making moments fun made you the Dad everyone wished they had. I felt incredibly lucky and proud to be your child.

I am elated that my sons, Sean and Spencer, had the opportunity to spend time with you and learn from your wisdom. It brought me immense joy to see them creating cherished memories with you. I know they will carry your lessons and love throughout their lives.

Your sense of humour brightened our darkest days, and the way you lived—with grace, humility, and perseverance—taught us valuable lessons. You showed us how to face challenges with courage, treat others with respect, and cherish moments with loved ones.

I believe you are in the Lord’s bosom, watching over us. Your legacy lives on in your children and grandchildren, and we will honour you by living according to the values you held dear. Sean and Spencer will always remember your stories, laughter, and warmth. Your spirit will guide us, giving us strength and comfort.

Though we are heartbroken by your absence, we take comfort in knowing you are at peace. You have gone ahead, but we know we will be reunited one day. Until then, we will hold onto the love and memories you left behind. We will always love you, Dad.

Rest in peace until we meet again, never to part.
